House bathroom with bath, electric shower over, basin and WC. Open plan kitchen diner with farmhouse style table and chairs. Lounge with Chesterfield suite, TV and electric effect woodburning stove. Utility room with drying cupboard. Glazed outdoor boot room. South-west facing patio with dining table and chairs. Set on the banks of the beautiful River Rothay in a peaceful setting just a short stroll from Grasmere. Rowan Cottage is a delightful Lakeland cottage laid over one floor. Relax with friends in the comfortable lounge with charming stone fireplace, enjoy preparing meals in the well appointed kitchen and dine together around the farmhouse dining table in this open plan kitchen / dining area. At the rear of the property, space is provided to store and dry walking clothes. Rowan Cottage offers three comfortable bedrooms, two are double bedrooms with accompanying en-suite shower rooms and the third double room is complemented by an adjacent bathroom. To the front of the property guests can relax on a beautiful furnished patio. Private parking is available for two cars. Grasmere is considered one of the most picturesque villages in the Lake District, with historic buildings, quaint tea rooms, art galleries and independent shops to explore. From the doorstep of Rowan Cottage there are walking trails aplenty, enjoy a picnic by pretty Easedale Tarn or climb Helm Crag for spectacular views across Grasmere and beyond. By car or bus you can easily reach the popular Lakeland towns of Ambleside, Windermere and Keswick. For the perfect self-catering retreat in an idyllic setting head to Rowan Cottage.

Any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family have been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century and Grasmere Lake, plus Grasmere Sports takes place every August, where you can watch participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland Wrestling. Just five miles away is the town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Cruises, boat trips and watersports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are also within driving distance. Grasmere is a wonderful base for your Lake District retreat.

The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
