Collooney sits on the banks of the River Own Bed, offering fishing, walking and the remains of a historic mill is perched on the riverside walk. A great selection of friendly pubs for Irish culture can be found in the village, as well as a local shop for the essentials. Collooney is an idyllic base for exploring Strandhill, Ballisodare Bay and Knocknarea.

The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.
