Location Details

In the county of Kent, the market town of Faversham is booming. This charming town provides tourists the option to explore, shop, cycle, walk, swim, fish, or eat out. It also has the oldest brewery in Britain, which dates back to 1698, as well as a number of intriguing places to see and things to do. Up until the 1950s, many London-based families made "hop plucking" a family holiday as a result of the brewery. One of the best spots to have a few beers is in the fields surrounding Faversham during the summer, when thousands of people swarm there to set up tents and spend the days "hop picking." With its cobblestone lanes, ancient homes, tiny quaint pubs, and several listed buildings, Faversham is proud of its heritage and is even mentioned in the Domesday Book. This town cherishes remembering its unique history. If you're seeking outdoor entertainment, Faversham has more than enough to keep you busy. Why not go swimming in one of the all-year-round pools? Faversham provides three outdoor swimming pools with diving boards, a paddling pool, and white water rapids in the summer. You can bring a lunch and make a day of it; there is lots of grass around the pools for picnics and for kids to play on. There are many walks in the area of Faversham; simply pick up a booklet from the tourist office and decide which one you want to take. The Royal is the ideal location to go if you feel like watching a movie. Since 1936, it has continued to provide tourists with a classic experience, including usherettes to direct you to your seat and popcorn and ice cream during the intermission. Canterbury, Rochester, and Whitstable are all close by for those who want to go further afield. If you want to travel even further, take a ferry or go through the Channel Tunnel; either way, you may be in France or Belgium for lunch and back in time for tea! It is excellent and well worth visiting this area.

Kent is affectionately known as the Garden of England. Its history and heritage provide the region with a rich array of sightseeing possibilities, while the stunning choice of Blue Flag beaches offer the chance to enjoy the beautiful coastline.
