Stroll out of the front door and you immediately become a member of the canal boat community. Turn right and within a minute’s walk, you find yourself on the Thomas Telford designed Chirk Aqueduct which takes you 70 feet above the Ceiriog Valley into North Wales. Turn left along the towpath and down the road and you will soon reach the Bridge Inn where a warm welcome awaits. The small town of Chirk has a delightful selection of shops, cafes and pubs, as well as being home to Chirk Castle, a magnificent National Trust owned medieval castle which not only features many fascinating historical artefacts, but also boasts fabulous gardens and woodland. Situated on the Welsh border, guests at Aqueduct Cottage can easily access the North Wales towns of Llangollen and Bala, as well as being just a short drive from the Roman city of Chester, famous for its racecourse, Roman Walls and the world-famous Chester Zoo. A superb base for a holiday that you will never forget.
