Located in the York Dales, the pretty Teesdale village of Staindrop has long been associated with the fortunes of nearby Raby Castle. Open to the public, this monument is one of the grandest in England. Modified and extended over the centuries, the heart of the castle is medieval, boasting a walled garden in addition to a 200-acre deer park.
