Description

The property has been decorated in a traditional style, with homely touches throughout; after a day of touring the area, look forward to unwinding in the sitting room and firing up the woodburning stove before sinking into the leather sofas for an evening in front of the TV. The kitchen comes well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and even a dishwasher, so you won’t have to lift a finger when washing up! Upstairs there are three well-appointed bedrooms, with the master occupying a king-size bed, while the double and single bedrooms provide options for a variety of groups. Soak up the bubbles in the Jacuzzi bath or enjoy a refreshing morning shower to kick start the day. During the summer months, take advantage of the enclosed garden; the sitting area offers a peaceful place to enjoy a beverage in the sunshine or even a spot of alfresco dining. Enjoy an evening of dining out at the popular Harbour Inn restaurant, or stop off at the award-winning Galley Fish & Chip Shop after a day spent at Kilkeel Beach, which offers an excellent spot for bathing and family days out, with lifeguards on duty in the summer months. To the west of the beach is the Kilkeel Cliff Walk, which takes visitors past the Richard Harris memorial and offers some excellent views of the coastline. Kilkeel is also home to Kilkeel golf clib for those golf enthusiasts. Move inland and explore the Silent Valley Reservoir & Mountain Park for some wonderful, scenic walks, or venture to Mourne Mountains for some adventurous hikes. Enjoy a day out in Newcastle, home to a lovely beach and the Royal County Down Golf Club, ideal for any keen golfers. From here, you can follow the Shimna River inland towards the Tollymore Forest Park to find a plethora of walking. The nearby bustling city of Newry offers a great nightlife and plenty of shops and bars. For a great day out take the ferry from Strangford to Portaferry which is around 50 minutes away but beautiful scenery and well worth a visit. For something different take a trip to the Exploris Aquarium in Portaferry. Sandymount offers an excellent base for touring Annalong, Kilkee and County Down. Note: Property can be booked with Ref. 1040801, together sleeping 9 guests.

The charming coastal village of Annalong sits on either side of its own Annalong River, which flows all the way to the sea. This village offers a perfect place to enjoy a self-catered stay with a range of facilities such as supermarkets, bars, and restaurants, as well as a number of local businesses. Several other lovely towns and villages can be found along the coast, including the seaside resort of Newcastle, the delightful Kilkeel, and Ballymartin.
