Details

A rural couple's retreat, The Goat Shed offers stunning accommodation for two in a beautiful, bijou barn conversion nestled in the heart of the Norfolk countryside. Located on the edge of a quiet village (with a pub and post office), this off the beaten track bolthole, with its gorgeous, open-plan, light and airy living space, offers the height of luxury all year round.

All on one level, The Goat Shed has been stylishly refurbished by London designer Harriet Nicholls, with floor to ceiling, west-facing sliding glass doors all down one side to make the most of the beautiful sunsets for which Norfolk is famous. It has a well-equipped kitchen offering all the mod-cons for those who love to cook on holiday. A super-king bed, slipper bath and large power shower in the contemporary bathroom add to the opulent feel of this smashing little pad and the wood burning stove ensures it is cosy all year round. Outside, there is parking and a large private garden, with a fire pit, to relax in plus local walks from the bottom of the south-west facing garden.

The Goat Shed is the perfect location to explore all that Norfolk and Suffolk has to offer. The surrounding rural countryside around Thompson provides endless opportunities for cycling and walking, and with Thetford Forest only 20 miles away, you can head out with a picnic and follow the well-marked footpaths and cycle trails. Thompson Common, famous for its 'Pingos' - a series of around 400 post-glacial depressions - and one of the most important sites in the county for dragonflies and damselflies, is less than a mile from The Goat Shed. In fact, The Pingo Trail, an extraordinary and fascinating walk, can be joined from the bottom of the garden! Norfolk's mediaeval main city, Norwich, is only a forty minute drive away, whilst the outstanding Heritage Coast in Suffolk can be reached in just over an hour.
