We had a fabulous time at Cairn View. The location is stunning and perfectly situated for walking and sightseeing in a fairly wide area. The cottage backs on to Loch Long and is enclosed by adequate fencing to allow a dog to roam freely outside. There is a patio table and benches plus a barbecue when the weather permits. Double glazed windows throughout kept out the wind. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming and he did everything he could to make our stay memorable. The pub next door is very friendly, dogs are allowed in the bar and the food is great.

We enjoyed our week at Cairn View. It was a lovely place to stay. There are some lovely walks near to the cottage and dog friendly. It was a relaxing holiday and we would go in the future. Just what we wanted, a comfortable place to stay in.

Lovely location for the cottage right on the edge of Loch Long which gave the property a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.

Rated by Ms Tooth reviewed on 18th June 2013

The cottage had not been cleaned properly surfaces in toilets etc had thick layers of dust, cooking utensils many needed washed before use, tray in oven still covered in grease, not really set up for proper self catering. We used £65 of electric on the key meter in spite of switching off all the storage heaters for 5 days!!! This is £20 more than i pay /month at home.Apart from washer dryer which is not suitable for outdoor base layer goretex etc there were no indoor drying facilities, not even a drying rack, The only thing going for it was the amazing view across the loch to the cobbler

Rated by Mr & Mrs Rose reviewed on 13th August 2012

The ability to sit and just look out over the loch at the hills was fabulous. The owner is very friendly and happy to advise/talk - and his lovely dog was a friendly face too. Arrochar is a good place to base yourself. All on one level so good for people who don't like stairs. Good parking. Quiet house despite being next to pub.

We appreciated the very warm welcome and the owner affording his help and advice at any time. Nothing was too much trouble. The view of and access to the loch was superb. Such a relaxing and inviting retreat and of course then there was Eric, the lovely friendly dog.

The views, and position were priceless and the owner is one of the nicest people you could meet. Nothing was too much trouble - our little grandson who holidayed with us was very poorly during our break, we spent most of our week in a Glasgow hospital. However the owner was very helpful and supportive to us, he even brought our grandson a present. We hope to go back at a later date to have a proper holiday.
