Reviews

Christmas 2020 The Cottage , Cartmel .. was the perfect getaway for our family over Christmas and New Year 2020. It turned out to be the perfect choice. Spacious , comfortable , clean & warm .. we spent 3 weeks here .. a family of six , and had a wonderful time. A great location right in the centre of the village , easy walking distance from all the shops , pubs , restaurants ..cafes and park. The Cottage has everything .. we loved the big kitchen , fully equiped , with everything you need. The living room was great , very comfortable and cosy with a big wood burning stove. Our youngest two kids enjoyed the space in the attic room , and the master bedroom is very spacious .. all the beds throughout the property are cosy & comfortable ..and the heated floor in the bathroom is a nice touch. Overall we couldn't fault it. I would recomend it anyone , you will not be dissapointed , we would definately go back. I have rented half a dozen or more houses in the village over the last 10 or more years.. The Cottage is by far the best yet ! Enjoy.

This cottage was absolutely filthy on our arrival. No regard what so ever for the global pandemic. Previous guests crumbs all over kitchen work top and dining table. Cupboards filthy inside. Log burner not even emptied. Dust everywhere and dead flies. Floors not even hoovered and disinfected after previous tenant nor were any of the surfaces. Absolutely unacceptable level of cleanliness with a deadly virus around. Owner didn’t even assist when we asked him to come and see the level of dirt and he didn’t even offer a second clean. Told us to speak to Sykes - who made it clear the owner is responsible. Owner also refused a refund despite it being unfit to stay for a high risk guest who immediately left. Shocking!!!!!
