A former master mariners home set over three floors, this mid terrace early nineteenth century cottage situated in the heart of Scarborough's historic old town is only a short stroll from the harbour. Perfect for couples, small families or friends wishing to relax. From the porch, you enter the welcoming open-plan living room which hosts an array of quirky colours and patterns to uplift your mood. The sitting area is perfect for cosy nights in front of the fire, with your favourite programme on TV. The well-equipped kitchen is nicely finished, complete with a dining area, so you can dine in style after preparing a delicious meal for the family. Upstairs, a king-size bedroom awaits with a traditional brass bed and window seat overlooking the bay. The cottage is completed by a spacious twin bedroom and family bathroom. Outside, enjoy the sea air on the enclosed patio area to the rear of the cottage as you sip a refreshing beverage. Of course you will want to explore the seaside town with its fine buildings, gardens and historic castle. What's more, North Bay and South Bay provide two stretches of beautiful, golden beaches. Fabulous walks can be enjoyed along the Cleveland Way and a night out at the theatre offers plenty of appeal. Close to the harbour, in a superb region of North Yorkshire, Sandgate Cottage can be enjoyed all-year-round.

Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 3 mins walk. Note: Please be aware that the spiral staircase is steep and might not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.

Just returned from 4 nights at this loverly quirky cottage and what a loverly place to stay. Well equipped kitchen open plan so all in one room. The stairs are winding to 2 floors, although low so be careful if your 6 ft plus as husband kept banging his head. Both bedrooms are large and plenty storage space. The bathroom has bathmats, so safe plus cleaning equipment, could do with new shower curtain but not essential.. Parking around property so can park as parking permits in cottage. The only downside we found was pots probably been washed in dishwasher so cups stained, spoon still dirty and plates felt greesy so went and brought washing up liquid to clean them. All told it was a loverly place to stay, the rest of the cottage was clean and well kept. Would stay here again as views and position was brilliant..
