Location Details

Nestled on the North Wales coast between Llanfairfechan and Conwy, Penmaenmawr is an old quarrying town now adapted into a delightful community stretching along this stunning coastline, yet retaining much of its Victorian architecture, with many local pubs, restaurants and shops, a superb golf course and golden, sandy beaches. Set on the side of the Tal-Y-Fan mountain, many parts of Penmaenmawr and its sister village Dwygyfylchi enjoy stunning views across Conwy Bay to Llandudno, Puffin Island, Anglesey and the Irish Sea, and if you are lucky, dolphins and seals can sometimes been see playing in the bay. A recently opened cycle path leads along the coastal path to Conwy Marina to the East, and Llanfairfechan to the west. Or, head up the Conwy valley through the Sychnant Pass on to the mountain trails that abound there. The sailing club in Penmaenmawr is well established and welcomes day guests, as does the 9 hole golf course, set amongst stunning coastal scenery on the lower slopes of the village. On the promenade you will find numerous activities such as a skate park, a children's paddling pool as well as a beach cafe which is open most of the year. There are also beach huts on the promemade that you can hire by the day. Also near to the beach is a bowling green and all weather tennis courts.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Reviews

Stayed here with family in January and what a lovely home, absolutely loved the games room. Did get a-bit cold and couldn’t work out the heating but it didn’t bother us to much. Comfy beds and plenty around to do. Would suggest maybe adding a light near the hot tub as well as a path so people can see where they are going at night

All 17 of us were very well accommodated with amusements for 5 -76 year olds. Excellent Games room with cinema, pool table, variety of electronic games consoles, together with a very popular hot tub. All 9 bedrooms were attractively decorated, each with its own theme. 2 lounges and a conservatory to spread us out. Kitchen comprehensively kitted out with adjacent laundry. Everywhere very clean and well presented. Never mind the weather Penholm provides a memorable holiday and well worth the money.

18 of us stayed for a family 60th birthday celebration. Age ranged from teens to late 80’s. Fabulous views from every window. There is a ground floor disabled friendly room with facilities and 8 other bedrooms. Two lounges, a large kitchen, a games/cinema room. The house also has history which is documented. All in all we had a fabulous time
