Location Details

Porthtowan is a small village resting on west Cornwall?s beautiful coastline, renowned for its Blue Flag beach, which at low tide exposes almost a mile and a half of fine, golden sands. A renowned surfing beach, patrolled by lifeguards during the summer season, the beach is also ideal for families with children. Surf hire and tuition is available on the beach and there pubs cafes, a beach shop in the town. A designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, cliff top walks along the South West Coastal path feature some spectacular scenery and lead east to St Agnes or west to Portreath. The city of Truro is 10 miles brimming with fine restaurants, cafes and shops. Whilst the vibrant maritime town of Falmouth is a little over 30 minutes drive and well worth a visit for its Maritime museum and varied selection of galleries and gift shops. There are days out for families and children at Flambards theme park in Helston and the Seal Sanctuary in Gweek. A great base for couples or families alike.

Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.
