This character Victorian holiday cottage is like stepping back in time. Nestled in the heart of the Nantlle Valley and a short drive from Snowdon, this delightful terraced cottage looks out onto an idyllic lake with views of the surrounding Snowdonia National Park. Being centrally located in a quiet village, this cottage is ideal for those wanting to explore either mountains or coast. It is also a fantastic base for walkers, climbers or cyclists but likewise for visitors who want a peaceful break; there's a Trigonos yoga/mindfulness retreat close by! A number of incredibly scenic walking routes can be started right from your doorstep in this area of outstanding natural beauty. From picturesque bike rides in the nearby forests to kayaking or canoeing on the lake. The village is rural but still offers so much to see and do. The sleepy village of Nantlle is also a great place for those who just want to relax and escape from the bustle of everyday life. There’s a very good chance that you won’t want to tear yourself away from the stunning mountain views which surround this dear cottage. The owner of the cottage lives just next door, and although you’ll be given complete privacy whilst on your holiday, previous guests of Perthi have enjoyed collecting fresh eggs from the chickens and feeding the sheep at owner’s small holding in the fields to the back of the cottages - a wonderful way for families, especially with younger children, to spend a day. Whether you are looking to hike along the popular Nantlle Ridge, explore nearby beaches and tourist attractions or simply relax in a peaceful location this cottage caters for all. The popular village of Beddgelert is close by, as is the Welsh Highland Railway and there's even Pant Du Vineyard just down the road! Formerly a quarryman's cottage, Perthi has been sympathetically renovated with both old and new and makes a comfortable and welcoming retreat in rural North Wales.

The lovely quiet village of Penygroes is situated around six miles from the historic castle town of Caernarfon, bordering the Snowdonia National Park with beautiful scenic walks and mountain views easily accessible. A good selection of shops, cafes and pubs are available in the village and the wider local area is full of restaurants and activities such as golfing, swimming, tennis, surfing and horse riding to name but a few. Plas Dinas Country House is also nearby, which is home to some great history as well as The Gun Room restaurant. The beaches on Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula can be reached in about half an hour, while the beach at Dinas Dinlle is just a 10-minute drive away. Nearby, Caernarfon is home to Caernarfon Castle, which is well worth a visit, with further shops and cafes available, as well as steam train trips. Portmeirion is also a short distance away, featured in the TV series ‘The Prisoner’. Just 8 miles away is the Welsh Heritage centre which has a licensed cafe at Gant Nwrtheyrn with magnificent sea views from it's decked dining area. Beddgellert is a very attractive village, surrounded by the beautiful Snowdonia National Park, with a fabulous arts and craft shop, and several pubs. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Reviews

Extremely disappointed with customer service. We booked holiday for few days in March 2020, which was cancelled by the owner of the property due to Covit 19. Almost 5 months later I still cannot get refund for the cancelled holiday. Trued to contact the owner of the property and the Sky Cottage with request of refund without success there was lot of premises made when stay was cancelled and I was able to communicate with the owner until I requested refund and I'm being ignored. Very poor customer service. Now I'll will have to try to dispute this with my credit card provider.
