West Cottage is a lovely detached cottage nestled in the village of Hilton of Guthrie, near Froickheim, Scotland. Hosting seven bedrooms: two ground-floor doubles, one ground-floor bunk room, one first-floor double and three first-floor singles, together sleeping a total of 11 guests. The bedrooms are served by a ground-floor shower room and first-floor bathroom. Downstairs provides an open-plan kitchen/diner, a sitting room with an electric fire and a conservatory. Outside has an enclosed lawned garden, decking and gravelled areas with furniture and hot tub, as well as off-road parking for 2-3 cars. West Cottage is a wonderful choice for a rural break to the heart of Scotland.

Stayed here for nearly two weeks, it’s a lovely big house with plenty of space, hot tub was amazing and the owners couldn’t do anymore for you.

Positives- welcome pack including milk, bread , biscuits and wine. Sadly downhill from there. Dirty plates, pots and dishes, lounge had a very strong doggy smell. We purchased shake and vac to help eliminate this and when we pulled the sofas out we found a mound of dust, a dummy and a dog ball. Decor is very tired and dated. Wallpaper hanging off the wall, poor maintenance, repairs and shabby in places. No keys to open kitchen window which made it extremely hot when cooking. The same for the lounge windows. Garden advertised as enclosed it wasn't and contained 2 very old rickety benches. As a family we made the best of the holiday and enjoyed it however we will not be returning to West Cottage.
