Reviews

We stayed here for a week with a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old. The setting is absolutely stunning, surrounded by unspoilt countryside. The owners, Mike and Nicola were wonderfully welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They showed the children the lambs in the barn, let us name their new chickens and gave us fresh eggs! The location is superb - a great base to explore the local area (Combe Martin, Ilfracombe, Linton/Linmouth etc) and Mike and Nicola gave lots of great tips too. The cottage is perfectly appointed and child-friendly (including cot, stair gate, high chair). The children adored the stay here and we did too - peaceful and relaxing. (Only point to note is that access is down a long bumpy track, so best not arrive in a Ferrari if you were planning to..!)

We were given a lovely welcome to the property. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed and the garden was a surprise - not photographed on the site, and we loved spending sunny evenings in the garden. A delight.

The owners were friendly and welcoming, a clotted cream tea was provided on arrival. A quiet and picturesque location for a get away from it all break. Two or three local pubs offered good food at reasonable prices.(Fox & Goose, The Black Venus).

The view was spectacular. We had a lovely time at this nicely furnished cottage. It had everything we needed and there were nice extra touches like milk in the fridge, a loaf of bread and a cream tea on our arrival. We were offered a stair gate for our 2 year old which was a real comfort and I felt that the owners would have gone to further lengths to accommodate our wishes if we had required it. We would definitely visit this cottage again.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in The Byre during September. We were lucky with the weather which, for most of the stay, was hot. The cottage is well equipped and really comfortable. A memorable week.
