Settled in a central yet still secluded spot in the charming fishing town of Filey is this delightful four-bedroom dwelling, Rose Cottage. Nestled on the North Yorkshire Coast, this contemporary styled abode can welcome nine guests, and is within walking distance of all that the scenic coastal town can offer. Discover simple and tasteful decoration within the sitting room where two sofas offer somewhere to relax after a busy day, with a flame-effect electric fire to add some calming ambiance, along with a Smart TV and Blu-ray player for enjoying a favourite film. Pass through the open doorway into the dining area of this open-plan living space, and come together around the dining table for a tasty home-cooked meal prepared in the kitchen. Equipped with everything you need amidst fresh, off-white units, including a fridge/freezer, electric oven and hob, and a dishwasher and washing machine, the kitchen will surely please the chef of the group. Completing the ground floor is the cloakroom with a basin and WC, whilst upstairs you can freshen up in the spacious bathroom. Choose to settle down for the night in one of four beautiful bedrooms, with an en-suite king-size room, two double rooms and a twin room with a further pull-out bed, perfect for little ones! Enjoy sitting outside on the front terrace bench with your morning coffee before heading out to explore for the day, walking the quaint streets of Filey past the many independent shops and businesses, before reaching Filey Bay. In warmer months, delight in days spent on the sands of Filey Beach, with rock pools to explore and a beachside sculpture trail to discover, with ice cream shops and cafés by the beach providing a great place for a treat and some lunch. Head out on a walk up to Filey Brigg Country Park to take in some gorgeous views of the bay, venturing all the way out along the small peninsula to observe the local wildlife here. The Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park is a great activity for those with younger children, with a chance to meet some friendly farm animals up close and some pretty birds, whilst the Filey Dams Nature Reserve is another great walking place. Lying on the North Yorkshire coast is the charming resort of Filey, offering a lovely location for a seaside stay any time of year. Filey was originally a fishing town and since the Victorian times it has been a popular holiday destination thanks to being set along Filey Bay, a gorgeous stretch of sand with Filey Brigg and rockpools to the north. The town is home to a good selection of shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs, offering all you need for a self-catered stay. The towns of Briglington and Scarborough are within reach and make fantastic day trips.

We stayed here in April 2021 and it is a lovely place. The cottage was a great size, really well presented and very clean. The location is brilliant for a stay in Filey. The beach, town centre and local pubs and restaurants are all within a few minutes walk. Have given it 4 stars as the parking is limited and doesn’t have much outdoor space but neither would put me off staying again. A gem of a place to stay in Filey!
We stayed in Rose Cottage for a week in August and it was perfect for us. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle but with a two minute walk into the town, a 5 minute walk to the beach and very close to all other amenities. The cottage is spacious and cosy and we would definitely recommend. We have rated this 4 because the bathroom needs some TLC and there is no parking on site.
Stayed at Rose cottage for 4 weeks from September the 6th until October the 9th with my husband and 3 children. On arrival we found that the cottage was filty and had to return home. We found this unacceptable for a holiday cottage charging £900 per week let alone given the current covid outbreak! The owner was notified and arranged for the cleaners to return. The kettle was thick with limescale which the owner organised a replacement and I must of threw out 20 cans of out of date food and I'm talking early 2019! On checking back in we found the standard slightly better but not much. There were no handsoaps at any of the sinks, no complimentary welcome touches and 2 loo rolls in total! The cottage is in desperate need of some TLC. The walls are dingy and highly marked, the rug behind the sofa is grimy and needs a good wet vac, there are only a few windows on the front of the property and its painted in magnolia so its incredibly dark and gloomy. Could do with fresh bright white throughout. The shower is tiny and broken, the king bed has only a double sized duvet on, the pillows are old and missing shape and have no protectors on and are heavy stained. There is thick dust behind every cabinet and under all the beds and cobwebs hanging from the ceiling in the twin room. There's a horrible yellow gunk dripped all the way down the first bedroom window and the bathrooms need a proper good scrub! The kitchen lacks the basics like baking trays and plastic jugs and the oven only has 1 shelf. The benches out the front are old and broken, we arrived and the wheelie bin was overflowing with a week to go before collection. The 2 'cleaners' came every Monday and after 1.5 hours they were finished and leaving????? My children always had black socks unless they wore shoes or slippers. There are personal pictures throughout of the owners children which we found quite uncomfortable. Guests are also able to access and read all the owners mail. There is an airing cupboard filled with junk qnd we even found someone else's bra and tights.... ewww! There's a downstairs cupboard in the lounge which houses the hoover.... open this at your own peril as you will find empty boxes, wellies, insulation, filthy buckets and spades and generally tons of crap so because of this there is no downstairs storage apart from kitchen units so shoes and coats are always on display and the buggy had to be left outside. This place has huge potential but not how it is currently. Its very unloved and certainly not at standard to let out. The management company you employ to run it should be ashamed!
