Bontnewydd 1.8 miles. In rural Rhostryfan in North Wales, lies this traditional farmhouse, Bryn Bethel, renovated to create additional stylish space, with some excellent features, and looking picture-perfect with its stone walls and double fronted windows. Affording itself well to larger families because of the bedroom space, and with its rural location with good access to nearby towns, you can really take some time out away from the daily grind and relax surrounded by beautiful countryside. Be welcomed into this real home-away-from-home and find the kitchen area to your right after coming through the front door, and you will be pleased to see a well-equipped contemporary kitchen where you can prepare your meals. A woodburning stove sits in the dividing wall between the kitchen area and the sitting and dining room, and is accessible from both sides; a clever modern feature that means everyone will be toasty warm. This open-plan sitting and dining area features a brilliant curved wall of exposed red-brick, a simple but stunning design that really adds character to the already interesting building, with this room featuring a Smart TV and patio doors leading into the garden. Back out of this quirky room, and over to the other side of the ground floor and come upon the double bedroom with en-suite shower room; this room is spacious and would suit people with limited mobility. Once you’ve climbed up the classic steep staircase, so common in older properties, you will find the twin room containing two singles, and a bunk room, ideal for the kid’s, and across the way is a shower room with modern up-to-date fittings, so you can have the luxury of the 21st century within these old walls. From inside the living area, go through the patio doors and you come out into the delightful garden which has table and seating for eating outside on warm summer evenings, and a good-sized lawned area for the children to play on, with off-road parking to the front of the property for two cars. The nearest village with a pub and shop is Bontnewydd, just a few miles up the road so you can nip over in the car, or take a walk over to the pub if it’s a nice day, with the larger town of Caernarfon further north for some more choice. Caernarfon isn’t just good for shops, it has lots to offer in the way of rich history and activities, most notably is Caernarfon Castle constructed all the way back in the 14th century by order of King Edward I, it is still mostly intact and definitely worth a visit. For an incredible sightseeing opportunity, go along to Caernarfon Airport’s Pleasure Flights, and take in the stunning views of Snowdonia and the beautiful coast from a plane or helicopter with a guided tour for an unforgettable holiday experience. The kids will absolutely love Plas Menai National Outdoor Centre, where they can spend the day windsurfing, kayaking, paddle boarding and many other exciting activities, and if you don’t want to join in then head into the café where you can grab a coffee and cake instead! Use Bryn Bethel as your base for touring this beautiful area of Wales.

Bontnewydd is a small village sitting outside of Caernarfon in North Wales, close to the river Gwyrfai. Hosting a village shop and a pub, this village has the essentials, with the royal town of Caernarfon being just a few miles away and offering more choice in regards to shops and things to do. This village is also good for access to Snowdonia National Park, so if you are heading over to North Wales to do some walking then it’s a great spot to base yourself, along with cyclists too.
