Resting in Shipton Gorge, Dorset a beautiful village surrounded by the glorious countryside, lies Rosamond, a spacious and comfortable holiday home providing the perfect base for a family or group of friends looking for a peaceful staycation. Sleeping up to four guests, the property is all ground-floor with bedrooms decorated in grey and black tones, sure to invite you to rest after a busy day of exploring the local area. The modern kitchen/diner is a great space to gather and enjoy home-cooked meals whilst you chat and plan your holiday itinerary before moving conversations to the sitting room where you can cosy down on the plush sofa and flick on the TV to catch up on your favourite shows. From here, the sun room is a charming addition where you can sit with your morning cup of tea or coffee and get lost in a book or perhaps use the space to relax and unwind at the end of the day with a glass of wine in hand. Retire to one of two bedrooms; the dwelling is home to a king size room and a twin room, both complete with plush beds and storage for you to unpack your belongings. Guests will also benefit from a shower room, complete with a walk-in shower, basin and WC, where you can freshen up ahead of the next day's adventures. Outside, the property boasts a large rear garden perfect for al fresco dining in the warmer months and a great space for the little ones to run off some energy, while you take in the fantastic views over the rolling countryside and beyond. The village of Shipton Gorge is rich in history with pretty lanes, traditional cottages and a grand church dating to XIII century which is even mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. Take a leisurely stroll through the charming village which offers many scenic walks along footpaths and bridleways, before stopping off at a traditional pub for a delicious meal. The nearest beach is just a short drive away in the coastal village of Burton Bradstock and is the home to the loved-by-locals Hive Beach Café which serves light bites and refreshments in a spectacular on beach location with a sweeping shingle shoreline and golden clifftop backdrop. A few miles further afield you will find the quirky town of Bridport which is well known for its weekly markets with a diverse range of stalls, selling arts and crafts, unique keepsakes, bric-a-brac and local foods. Another short and scenic drive will take you to the bustling fishing village of West Bay, known for its busy working harbour lined with kiosks, cafes and restaurants. Another scenic car journey brings you to the seaside town of Weymouth; offering all you need to enjoy a traditional day by the sea with its golden sandy beach, shallow waters and many attractions including donkey rides, arcades and watersports, a fun filled day out both adults and children will enjoy, Weymouth is worth a visit. Rosamond is a wonderful home-away-from-home in which to explore and discover the wonders of delightful Dorset and all that it has to offer all year round.

What a marvellous place this is. Fantastic, newly appointed in every room, high spec bungalow, gorgeous clean lines decor and amazing scenery surrounding it. Please see my photos of the spectacular view from the lounge. Rosamond is in a no through road so if you’re looking for peace and quiet without even hearing a pin drop ( apart from birdsong ), this is the perfect place for you. From the morning sun shining through at the breakfast table and lounge area at the rear of the property to the afternoon sun with tea in the sun room at the front, this is sheer bliss. The bed mattresses are fabulous quality, no expense has been spared and the owners are lovely people. The pretty and very well attended garden is dog secure ( unless you’re bringing a kangaroo ). I would thoroughly recommend Rosamond for a holiday and would not hesitate to return. Everything was perfect
A beautiful bungalow, extremely well decorated and spacious. Low level, large shower, big enough for a shower chair. A second toilet which is disabled height. Large bedrooms and the property has enough space for 4 adults and a dog. An hours walk from Hive beach and a beautiful walk to Bridport via Walditch, is well worth the climb on the way back. Climbing Shipton Hill, is worth the climb too, but wear long sleeved tops and trousers. A machete if you have one, is also useful. Longs fish and chips in Bridport are extremely tasty and Groves garden Centre do amazing lunches! The is undoubtedly the best holiday let we have ever stayed in and can’t wait to come back!
