Off-road parking is available for four cars. Low Melbecks House is very well-presented and will be a wonderful host to you and your loved ones during a trip to the Lakes. Keswick 8.8 miles. Nestled on the outskirts of Bassenthwaite, less than ten miles from the bustling town of Keswick, is this charming white stone cottage. The owner's other property, Low Melbecks Cottage, can be booked alongside this one to accommodate a larger group. Low Melbecks House has a quirky reverse-level accommodation with the ground floor hosting two king-size bedrooms. Each bedroom comes with a selection of contemporary furnishings for storage purposes, whilst one bedroom has a lovely built-in bookcase and a floor-to-ceiling window with stunning views across the surrounding fells, the perfect spot for enjoying a quiet read. Both bedrooms have en-suites, one with the choice of a double-ended bath and separate shower, so you can decide how best to prepare for your day. Following the steps up to the first floor, where you will be welcomed into a large open-plan living space, boasting a contemporary decor, with characterful features such as the exposed beams. Step towards the sitting area which benefits from a large corner sofa, able to sit up to six people. There is a large dining table which makes for the ideal social space to gather for a lovingly prepared home-cooked meal, or enjoy a hearty breakfast at the breakfast bar and plan the day's events. The kitchen has been fitted to a high-standard with all the standard appliances required, with a few added extras such so you barely have to lift a finger during your trip! There is a small balcony with views of the fells, garden with stream below, showcasing the true beauty of the Lake District. Outside, you will discover a large garden adorned with trees, shrubs and seating bordered by a stream, the perfect spot for some alfresco dining or simply enjoying a refreshing drink during the summer months. While you're in the area, take a short drive towards the bustling town of Keswick for some traditional local delicacies, or pick up any last-minute essentials from the local supermarket. For a spot of history, the likely choices are to visit Keswick Museum with its varied displays on culture, history and landscape, whilst the Derwent Pencil Museum has original restored machinery and offers the local history of pencil making dating back to the 1550's. If you're keen on getting involved with some watersports, venture towards Derwentwater. Further afield are the popular hiking attractions of Scaffel Pike and Helvellyn, something even the most skilled hikers will struggle to complete; once you reach the top you will discover some of the most exquisite views in the whole of England.
