Reviews

Having returned from our Christmas break at Dale View I wanted to express my disappointment. The main part being the next door neighbour. As soon as we had stepped foot into the property she made it known that she was going to let us know she was there. From playing loud music, kicking the door and knocking on the walls at any slight noise made from a family, even a slight cry from my 11 Month Old grandson. This is not a property that is family friendly. We were any normal family enjoying our stay. From the first night it was impossible to sleep in the first bedroom to the left of the landing. My granddaughter was woken by her from all hours. This bedroom then not been in use for the rest of the stay. This is not fair when we have paid for a 4 bedroom house. Having looked at previous reviews it quite clearly shows this is a recurring problem and should be sorted by the owner. Our stay was a Christmas present for my family and feel a big downer was put on our time there. We did try and speak with the neighbour but they failed to answer the door. We didn't feel contacting the owner at the time would solve the neighbours actions. You will only solve this by sorting out sound proofing in the property. We feel strongly that this needs to be portrayed to the property owner. We have video evidence of the noise from the neighbour and would be happy to provide this. I'm not one to complain but feel this is needed and compensation should be offered. I have 2 grandchildren that should have come away with happy memories not memories of been scared of the knocking and not been able to settle to sleep. I would really appreciate your reply and comment from the owner. Thank you RESPONSE FROM THE PROPERTY OWNER: We have lots of families, including our own, stop at Dale View who have left great feedback on the property, mainly in the handwritten guest book. The property is a semi-detached properties and is advertised as such. So it is important when booking that guests consider if this is an appropriate property for them and their noise levels. Property Owner MY RESPONSE: Thank you for your informative response. One that clearly relays we should have made sure we booked the correct property to suit our noise levels as a family of 6 adults, 2 children and a baby. This is what we did, booked your property advertised for families. What you fail to add onto your advertisement is that if you want to spend your stay with an additional neighbour this is the added bonus. A bedroom that is practically like been in the same house . This is unfair and your response is too. I'm happy to hear the feedback that all your other families stay and your own haven't experienced the noise we did from your neighbour. Funny how other groups have noted the noise feedback online but all good reviews are in a paper note book. We must just not be that normal family that you obviously feel you are advertising your property for. What I fail to understand is how any normal family can enter a property without any normal noise and that is all it was. We did not make any noise out of the ordinary or even late on. Maybe also add onto your advertisement that you must whisper whilst staying in the property or actually your best not to talk. Having stopped at many different properties and locations each year we have never experienced noise from a neighbour like it or have we ever had any complaints against us for our noise levels. Just wondered why you have a side door to the property that is locked and no longer has access to it, with a completely sealed shut letterbox? Does this not tell us that you obviously have an ongoing problem with your neighbour and maybe why neighbouring properties know this is a thing. Maybe you could explain this to me otherwise. We are a very considerate family and do respect others like we do living in our own properties. So thank you for consideration. You obviously feel we deserved your neighbours actions. So yes compensation should have been considered but you have made it quite clear this is not the case. The fault is ours for not booking the appropriate property to suit and no fault of your own. It makes clear sense to me that the problem is with your property and not my family's noise levels. NO FURTHER COMMENT MADE FROM THE OWNER AND CASE CLOSED WITH SYKES COTTAGES. DISAPPOINTING!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. NEIGHBOUR IS A NIGHTMARE!!!
