Beautiful cottage, very high standard of interior. We’d return here. Great kitchen with decent selection of crockery etc. Bedroom very comfy, good bathroom that was relatively recently redecorated and provided very soft bath towels. pub in walking distance and lots of walking options in local area. We saw deer, woodpecker, lots of wildlife. Enclosed garden was great for the dog. The BBQ chimney was great for our Cobb charcoal cooker. Garden and conservatory both really nice to read in. Off-road parking also good and we didn’t really see the owners who lived next door. Instruction book was helpful and included all covid info. Only downsides- Hot tub wasn’t as warm as others we’ve stayed it, but was ok. It was very clean and was being emptied between bookings (covid restrictions applied) which may have impacted temperature. The farm next door is a working one, but we got used to the humm/farm noise quickly.

Where do we even begin. We arrived at Ash Tree Lodge after having no problems finding it at all. It’s based down a country lane out the back of a lovely little village. When we arrived we pulled on to the private drive. Inside we were greeted with chocolates, Prosecco, wine and crisps. They had also put a fresh pint of milk in the fridge for us too. There is a fire in the sitting room and a fire in the bedroom. There was plenty of newspaper, kindling and fire wood provided along with matches and a lighter too. Along with the fires there is also heating that you can control so there is no chance of you feeling the cold. In the conservatory there is underfloor heating also. One of the main reasons for us booking this lodge was the hot tub of course which is a lovely touch! The bed! The bed is so comfortable it is a big bed too! More than enough space. The bathroom again is immaculate and great power shower. There is also a vanity area in the bedroom for the ladies to do hair and make up. Everything is immaculate. The decor and the cleanliness of the place too. This place is also a great place to stay if you have a dog and you love a good walk through the country. We don’t have a dog and didn’t bring walking attire but outside the front door in the porch on the wall is a fancy wall booklet with all the local dog walks. They also have a dog wash in the garden for when you get back from your walk. They also provided towels to dry off the dog and umbrellas also. In the porch is also a heater if you’re a smoker and an ashtray fixed to the wall to dispose of your cigarette butts. The kitchen is fully functional. We stayed here over Christmas and cooked a Christmas dinner in the kitchen. Even better having a dishwasher too so no washing up afterwards which is always a bonus! There is a tv with freeview but not many channels but we didn’t come here to watch tv so that didn’t really bother us too much. There are plenty of dvds supplied and books too. There was also board games and card games available to play too. All in all we were blown away by this place. If you are looking for a quiet English country romantic getaway then this is the place for you. I can’t think of anything that would improve this place. The owners have truly thought of everything! They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was the best it could be.
