Windermere is a lively town neighbouring the twin town of Bowness, both situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park. The town is home to a generous choice of amenities, shops and eateries, as well access to the town of Ambleside where you'll find the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House. Other hotspots nearby include Grizedale Forest Park, several National Trust properties, the World of Beatrix Potter, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains further afield.

Stay recently and while the house is stunning my 10yr old daughter fell though a faulty dining chair and has quite a severe gash/graze and not bruise thw full length of her shin (which at just under 5ft tall is considerable) I am just glad she wasn't carrying any cutlery etc or it could have been worse. We are very lucky it wasn't my 3yr old niece or I dread to think what would have happened. Alarmingly this has been logged many times in the guest visitors book so the owners clearly have no redard for guests safety. Also a lot smaller issue but on arrival there was a cracked glass and bowl "ready to use" clearly close to shattering.
