Part of the prestigious Applethwaite Hall development, Deer Wood At Applethwaite Hall is a contemporary, luxurious ground floor retreat, close to the bustling town of Windermere and her busier neighbour, Bowness, yet peacefully situated. The apartments are created within a stunning former Arts and Crafts country house, offering superb views across the manicured grounds to the Langdales beyond. One of only 12 luxury apartments within this stunning former country house, the building displays a wealth of original features from the Arts and Craft movement and has been sympathetically reworked to combine modern day facilities with early 20th century heritage. A private entrance on the ground floor with a light and airy entrance hall and beyond to the spacious open plan living space; a wonderful social area with the emphasis very much on comfort. The quality kitchen is well equipped with Neff appliances, and an adjacent dining area with solid wood furnishings completes the lounge area. A door leads out to a cleverly created sunny private decked garden, perfect for enjoying an aperitif before dinner. There’s also a covered veranda with further outdoor seating to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of the woodland beyond. Just a mile from the centre of Windermere, Deer Wood makes an ideal base for enjoying a variety of walks or cycle rides from the door. The delights of Windermere and Bowness offer you an array of interesting shops, bars and bistros as well as well stocked supermarkets and every day amenities, and of course, access to Lake Windermere at Bowness. Orrest Head and Post Knott are within easy walking distance and offer amazing views of England's largest Lake, a perfect amble for you and your dog; various watersports line the shores of Windermere to include sailing, paddleboarding and canoeing and Grizedale Forest is close by providing a variety of trails for cyclists and mountain bikers of all abilities.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip.
