Sit on the pretty window seat and look out on a timeless scene. Walk down to the lake, breathe in the wonderful Lakeland air and start to imagine wonderful holiday adventures. You will have a choice of many wonderful trails from your doorstep, whether it’s a low-level circular route, a lakeshore stroll or an adventurous hike up to the high fells. If you fancy an evening meal out, make your way to the much-loved Cuckoo Brow Inn, which is one and a half miles away in Far Sawrey. Hawkshead is four miles away and the ferry to Bowness, is two miles away

The village of Far Sawrey has a pub/restaurant, whilst Bowness, with all its shops, restaurants and leisure facilities, is just a short distance across the lake by ferry. Also close by is ‘Hill Top’, once the home of Beatrix Potter, and Hawkshead with its picturesque 17th century cottages. Footpaths lead from the grounds to the village and Claife Heights - a noted beauty spot of forests and tarns. Watersports are close at hand on Windermere, along with Lake Cruises and the majestic Wray Castle to admire. Fishing can be enjoyed on nearby Esthwaite Water and, of course, fell walking.
