Llanfair Caereinion 3.8 miles. Hidden within the peaceful village of New Mills, beside the flowing river Rhiw, is this stunning pod, The Rhiw. The property is based within the owner’s grounds, discovered at the top of an elevated terrain up 29 narrow steps. As you reach the top, you're greeted by a magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding Welsh landscape, a truly breath-taking sight that you get to wake up to for your entire stay, the pod is the perfect retreat for a romantic couple’s break. Enter the rustic open-plan living space, admiring the unique curved L shape layout, and beautifully renovated furnishings. Use the convenient kitchen amenities to rustle up a romantic meal for two, heading over to the dining seating to share some intimate catch-up time with your other half over a delicious meal and a bottle of wine. Have some indoor chill time and flick through films on the wall-mounted Smart TV, taking a break from the rural setting. When you're ready to call it night, take a few steps over to the plush king-size bed, conveniently built into the fixed structure, situated next to ample storage for all your belongings. The bathroom is stored away privately within this property, make your way round the corner to the superb shower room, featuring a heated towel rail and a vanity mirror, to enhance the space even more, there's also a door that leads directly out onto the terrace, making it easy to slip in and out to the shower after using the hot tub without getting the rest of the property wet. Sip on an ice-cold glass of gin as you delight in the sun on the terrace area, you can even take a dip in the lavish hot tub whilst taking in the stunning picturesque views at the front of the pod. Nearby shops and pubs are just a mere drive away, or if you're feeling up to, you can take a long stroll over to pick up your necessities or enjoy a tasty pint. For a day steeped in medevil history, believed to be built around 1200 why not visit National Trust's Powis Castle? With a world famous 25-acre garden, 18th Century terraced garden and a collection of furniture and paintings considered to be one of the finest is Wales, this is day out not to missed. Spend a summers afternoon at Glansevern Hall Gardens, a colourful 25-acre garden filled with exotic trees, lakes and birdwatching by the riverbank. Cultural exploration awaits you within the centre of Newtown, which has an array of museums including Newtown Textile Museum, The Robert Owen Museum, and WH Smith & Son Museum, the town is also home to Welsh medieval castle, Dolforwyn Castle, boasting magnificent views of the upper Severn Valley. Travel over to Llanfyllin and enjoy an thrilling day out at Roomination Escape Games, where you can put your teamwork and investigative skills to the test in one of their unique quests. The town of Llanfair Caereinion is built upon the site of an old Roman fort, in the valley of the River Banwy. It is a thriving town built around The Church of St Mary, with a Post Office, two supermarkets, and a selection of three different pubs. The annual Llanfair Caereinion Carnival is very popular with locals, and proceeds through the town with a full parade of floats and dancing troupes, providing a Rio carnival atmosphere. There is a river walk along the banks of the Banwy leading to an Arboretum, containing over 25 different species of British trees, an ideal place to explore before stepping back in time and jumping on the start of the narrow gauge heritage steam railway that runs 8.5 miles west to Welshpool. Welshpool nestles into the upper reaches of the picturesque Severn Valley near the border between Wales and England. This bustling market town is surrounded by rolling hills and glorious unspoilt countryside. There's a unique blend of shops offering arts & crafts, fashion & leisure, fresh produce, and quality pubs and restaurants, as well as the town centre’s restored cock fighting pit and interesting Heritage Trail. Visit the famous 13th Century Powis Castle, and the renowned Dingle Gardens.
