St Just 0.5 miles. Located off-the-beaten-track on the edge of St Just, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a UNESCO World Heritage site, this former artist studio, dating back to 1840, has been tastefully renovated by the owners, who reside in the main house close by. The Old Studio is a comfortable and peaceful property overlooking rolling fields, ideal for a couple who enjoy outdoor adventure, with many coastal walking and cycling routes available - not to mention wild swimming spots. The accommodation is reverse-level and the entrance is on the first floor, with a compact open-plan living area with a woodburner and an apex ceiling and dual aspect windows creating a light filled space. Downstairs there is a sumptuous bedroom with an en-suite shower room with fluffy towels. A stable door leads from the bedroom to the courtyard garden for sundowners. Nancherrow is close to the spectacular coastline at Cape Cornwall and the historic mining town of St Just. A rare find for ramblers, beachcombers, bird-watchers and peace seekers. Walk from the door through Kenidjack Valley, dotted with mining ruins, to the sea and South West Coast path. See the iconic engine houses at Botallack where the Poldark mine scenes were filmed and head back via the prehistoric stone circle at Tregeseal. You can walk to St Just and its traditional pubs serving food, cafes, galleries and curio shops and stock up on provisions at the supermarket, baker, butcher and greengrocer. For epic views climb the cape next to the secluded sand and pebble beach at Priest's Cove. For rolling surf and a wide stretch of white sand, head for Sennen Cove. Follow the scenic coast road to St Ives for galleries, including the Tate, as well as boutique shops and restaurants serving the freshest fish. St Michael's Mount, Land's End and The Minack, Cornwall's world famous open air theatre, are also a short drive. Return home to luxurious simplicity and rustic charm, perfect for a couple looking for some peace and quiet in idyllic surroundings.

St Just is the nearest town to Land’s End and is situated approximately eight miles west of Penzance. The town itself is an ancient settlement that has a strong mining history and there are several monuments and prehistoric antiquities to visit including the Bronze Age settlement at Cape Cornwall. Reviews

The Old Studio isn’t the roomiest of the airbnb accommodations we stayed at during two months of hiking across England, but for so many reasons it was our favorite. First there was our host Louisa who’s immensely likable and kind and eager to assure you have a wonderful time. She stocked the cottage with coffee and scones with cream and jam for our arrival and presented us with a bottle of Prosecco which timed perfectly with our wedding anniversary! She also insisted on doing a wash for us (we were there 12 days in August), and left a sweet note and jar of local honey for us in the doorway before we left. The space was artfully and thoughtfully fitted out for the two of us to live in fully, with a wonderful collection of local guidebooks and maps, all manner of kitchenwares, a towel warmer, bedroom heating if needed and a woodturning stove with seasoned kindling and logs that kept us toasty as Storm Betty passed through. We loved having the horses and neighborhood peacocks right outside our kitchen door and the studio’s setting on a quiet farm lane where ripe blackberries spilled over the stone walls. Then there’s Cornwall itself, a special place in the world, and St. Just, a great base from which to explore. A short walk downhill from the Old Studio is a pastoral lane leading to the Southwest Coast Path renowned for some of the best walking in England. We hiked much of the coast north and south of St. Just, picnicking on the beaches and cliffs overlooking the sea. Sometimes, rather than retracing our steps, we used the local footpaths to return trough the farm fields and hamlets which we loved jus as much. We would also recommend a visit to Newlyn, England’s second-largest fishery, where we bought the local fresh catch; the friendly Gurnard’s Head pub on the headland of the same name and Little Wonder Cafe offering fresh pasties at Cape Cornwall, the MooMaid creamery and Tinners Arms pub in Zennor, a magical hamlet, and the Thursday night traditional music jams at the North Inn in Pendeen. Also, watch the 2020 Mark Jenkins movie Bait filmed in black and white with a 16mm Rolex to appreciate the complicated relationship between tourism and Cornish life. This really is a different country from the rest of England, and we’ve already decided we’ll be back!
