The Wash House is found via a quiet farm track, overlooking serene views of the owner's farmland, luscious fields, grazing sheep and far-reaching views which can be enjoyed with your morning coffee from the front patio. As you enter the property you will instantly feel at home in the open-plan living space. Here you can cosy up in front of the woodburning stove as you settle in for a relaxing film night with a well-deserved glass of wine. Enjoy a home-cooked meal on the quaint breakfast bar-style dining table, cooked from the amply-equipped kitchen which houses all the necessary amenities for your self-catering needs. As the evening draws to a close retire to the bedroom, featuring a king size bed, with zip/link features if you require a twin room, as well as ample storage and beautiful bi-fold doors opening onto the patio, ideal for watching spectacular summer sunsets or frosty winter sunrises. Open the doors on a lazy Sunday morning and enjoy breakfast in bed, as the sounds of birdsong fill the room. The bathroom features a sleek tiled design encompassing a large walk in shower, w/c and wash basin. Get to know your local area and take a leisurely stroll over to the welcoming village of Sibford Ferris, home to a local store and Post Office where you can grab the necessities for your stay. The adjoining village of Sibford Gower features a traditional pub restaurant serving quality food and a range of local ales. A mile in the other direction will bring you to the famous brewery village of Hook Norton, featuring the internationally renowned Victorian Brewery and visitor centre, as well as three of the breweries pubs in the village and many more in the local area. Visitors to the Cotswolds have long treasured memories of charming towns and villages built from the famous honey-coloured stone, it now boasts a thriving community of contemporary artists working from studios and shops throughout the area.

Well what a little gem we found here! The Wash House is in an ideal location for ‘escaping it all’ and ‘taking a breath’ from everyday life. It sits on a slightly elevated position overlooking a patchwork of farmland with wildlife in abundance. The property itself is well equipped, immaculately clean, tastefully decorated and homely. Owners Adrian and Helen are a lovely couple who offer a warm welcome, a homemade cake/cupcakes upon arrival, a friendly chat, knowledge of the area and ensure that you have everything you need. There are walks from the property to the surrounding villages (maps also provided) but if you wish to travel further afield, Bourton on the Water (Venice of the Cotswolds), Stow on the Wold, Stratford Upon Avon are all within easy reach and well worth a visit. Oxford is a fabulous city for sightseeing and shopping - from here it is easily accessed using the Pear Tree Park & Ride. We also took the opportunity to kayak upstream along the River Avon whilst in Stratford - a lovely river to paddle on and less ‘river traffic’ if launching from the free car park in Warwick Road. We would not hesitate to return to The Wash House to explore the area further. It really is an ideal base with a ridiculously comfy bed to collapse in after a long day.
