The ancient village of Cowling sits across a hillside in the Pennine Hills, just seven miles from the market town of Skipton. A thriving village, built along a main high street with stone-built, terraced houses set alongside the mills of a bygone age. The village was once sparsely populated, the bulk of the population living in Ickornshaw and Middleton, and before that on Cowling Hill, close to water sources they depended on, and the main roads of the day - now used as back roads by locals to avoid the modern day traffic.

Reviews

Comfortable and clean home, beds are very comfortable and the cottage had everything you needed. It ideal for me as it is dog friendly but the gate just has a bolt and it was too easy for people to open so if my dog had been in the garden when someone came through, he could've ran out. Parking is not brilliant, a few neighbours had to ask my friend to move her car as the lane is narrow and one of the women was far from pleasant or understanding. The steps leading upstairs are steep and could do with a bannister of some kind as even for me who is agile struggled. Cowling is set in the countryside and pretty and this property is on the main road, corner shop not too far away but the pub facing, The Bay Horse has been closed since May.
