We did lots of walks including the Stiperstones Circular which is not to be missed and had a great day out on the Severn Valley Railway, Bridgnorth, which we highly recommend! We got the Freedom tickets and hopped on and off, discovering some lovely towns and villages along the Severn. The local pub was unfortunately not a great place to eat but we did find a lovely authentic Italian restaurant, La Lanterna in the Vestry in Shrewsbury which we would highly recommend and a lovely old country pub called the Stable Inn near Minsterly which serves delicious home made food from 5pm. As for Bank House Barn we were a little disappointed. It felt unloved and tired round the edges with a lack of attention to detail. The court yard felt a bit neglected which was a shame as it could be such an asset to the property. We could only assume Bank House Barn is a work in progress. The owners did give us fresh eggs from their chickens though which were nice.

My girlfriend and I spent 4 lovely nights here. The moment you enter the property it felt comfortable and cosy. The private Hot tub is conveniently placed outside the front door, once finished you can walk straight into the living room In front of the wood burning fire which heats the room quickly once lit. The kitchen had all essential appliances, we managed to cook a full roast dinner without missing anything. The bed was extremely comfortable. The owners were very accommodating. Chris was only a phone call away if anything was needed but left us to the privacy of our own space. The grounds of the house is great for a pre dinner walk along the river and saying hello to the friendly sheep. We would definitely stay again.

We've just come back from a 5 night stay over Christmas & we have had a lovely time, the building itself is very modern inside & is equipped with everying that you will need for a long weekend or even for a 7 night stay. Chris & Sonia are fantastic anything you need they are more than happy to help you. Location wise it just a stone throw from Shrewsbury which is packed full of pubs, restaurants & plenty of history, there are plenty of places to go walking near the barn also The Long Mynd is only 30 mins away. The highlight of the stay was going for a walk with Chris & Sonia & family around the estate (bring your wellies) they have 2 lovely dogs & 4 beautiful sheep which also go walking with you, this is a must!! Overall our stay was 10/10 I would highly recommend

Just home from a wonderful, peaceful weekend in this beautiful cottage. From the minute you pull up In front of the pretty decorated wood store you immediately feel welcome . We were greeted by Chris the owner, who took us in and gave us a little tour of the cottage and explained the things we needed to know to make the most of our stay. On entering the cottage we were greeted with the log burner glowing, the smell of fresh bread that was kindly left along with butter, jams and fresh milk , the lamps were on throughout, it immediately felt cosy and welcoming . The cottage was immaculate all furnishings were of great quality . The hot tub sitting in a quaint private yard was the icing on the cake , fairy lights twinkled away whilst we enjoyed a glass or 10 whilst star gazing . Netflix was a bonus on the TV. The land that the cottage and the owners beautiful home sat on looked wonderful, however we went for a complete relaxing weekend so we never ventured out walking. Chris & Sonya were fabulous hosts , only a call away if we needed anything, even though the cottage is only a few yards away from their house, it still felt very private and the hosts whilst very friendly were not at all intrusive . We would highly recommend this little gem and we will certainly be returning . Thank you Chris &Sonya for a perfect weekend

We stayed here as a couple wanting a relaxing, get away from it all weekend, we couldn’t have asked for more. Firstly the location of the Cottage was perfect, it’s set in the grounds of the owners home and offers a multitude of walks from right outside your door, and much to our delight we also had the privilege of walking with the owners sheep! Within a short driving distance is probably our most favourite Market Town, Shrewsbury, with its amazing indoor Market and an abundance of independent shops and eateries. Closer to home there are quite a few pretty villages with pubs too, but during COVID restrictions, recommend booking. Most importantly the Cottage itself was beautifully appointed, modern, contemporary, and cleaned to a very high standard, it has all you’d need for a cosy night in. Every convenience to prepare a meal, a very nice coffee maker and wine fridge. It made for a perfect evening snuggled up next to the log burner, watching the smart TV or listening to the blue tooth music system. Alternatively, it’s a couple of steps from the door into the bubbling hot tub, completely private and set in a very prettily decorated outdoor area with an overhead pergola and lights, perfect even on a cold winter night, we relaxed in it to our hearts content. The host was exceptionally welcoming, the Cottage festively decorated, there was a delicious welcome pack, the bread was still warm and delicious! and the fire was lit. He was on hand with very helpful advice of local area, and for any queries we had, nothing was too much trouble. For us it was a 10/10 experience and if we are planning to return, it will be the first place we look for availability.
