The Dairy is a magnificent retreat for couples or families to enjoy, whatever time of year.

Helston 3.8 miles. This superbly presented stone barn conversion lies on a small farm holding amidst idyllic Cornish countryside, close to the bustling market town of Helston. Once a dairy to the owner’s farm, the property provides a sumptuous accommodation to families and couples, perfectly positioned for touring the Lizard Peninsula and the surrounding area. Internally, the accommodation is set over the ground-floor and boasts a open-plan living space, combining contemporary design and character features, such as the slate flooring, tall apex ceiling and exposed granite. The property also benefits from an infra-red eco central heating system, along with a woodburning stove, ensuring a cosy feeling throughout. Lounge on the sofa after a day of walking, flicking through the Smart TV for a favourite film, or prepare the dining table for a tasty supper. The kitchen is beautifully presented, housing a fridge/freezer, electric oven and induction hob, along with a dishwasher, ensuring you are fully catered for. As you tire, pick from two beautiful bedrooms, including a super-king-size double with zip/link beds and a king-size, dressed in fresh white bed linen and housing plenty of storage for your personal items. The interior is tied together by the bathroom, complete with a bath and shower over with hand-held attachment, so you can choose the best way to prepare for the day. To the exterior lies an enclosed patio garden, complete with patio furniture and parasol, along with a barbecue, offering the ideal setup for some alfresco dining. Just under four miles away lies the bustling market town of Helston, home to a selection of pubs, restaurants and cafés, as well as hosting the famous Flora Day Festival in May, marking the end of winter. Those seeking adventure can travel to the Flambards Theme Park, boasting an array of rides and attractions for all ages, or head to the attractive fishing port of Porthleven, where you can lounge on the sandy beach and sample a range superb seafood restaurants. Further along the coast are many more lovely coves and sheltered beaches, as well as the beautiful coastal path which starts at Loe Bar. The Dairy is a truly spectacular base for a Cornish getaway, whatever time of year.
Helston is a lively town in Cornwall, acting as the western gateway to the Lizard Peninsula, just 14 miles away from Penzance. Helston provides a range of amenities, including shops, pubs and cafés, plus it holds the famous Flora Day Festival and the stories of "Furry Dance" are told in the fascinating Helston Folk Museum. Attractions within the area includes Flambards Theme Park and Poldark Mine, one of the best underground experiences in the south west.

Simply Wow - a page of writing for a review when there are so many positive things that we want to say is not enough. Our hosts Kate and Terry were absolutely amazing and the added bonus of being introduced to the goats, pigs and chickens with all the quirky names added a real “back to the good life” escape from the pressure of the everyday, out in suburbia. The cottage is fabulous and the little personal touches with our welcome hamper were a real bonus after a long drive. Nothing has been left out with the facilities in the cottage there’s everything you would need to cater for yourself, that said we decided to eat out and explore the vast amount of tea shops, pubs, bakeries and not forgetting the pancake house for a real treat which is a few minutes up the road. The STAR Inn was one of our favourite places to eat with great food, friendly staff and a good choice of food and drinks. Finally saving the best till last Kate and Terry are such lovely people and the Cottage was extremely comfortable with a very nice and relaxing atmosphere somewhere to unwind in comfort and reminisce about our daily adventures and discoveries in such a beautiful part of the country. We will be recommending this to all our friends and family and we hope to book a return visit soon.
