Appleby-in-Westmorland is in a loop of the River Eden and overlooks the North Pennines and Lake District Fells. Set in the lovely Eden Valley, this was historically Westmorland's county town. Appleby is set between the Lakes and Yorkshire Dales, so visitors can enjoy varied views, walking and cycling, and a superb leisure centre.
