Enter to find a smart kitchen with slate floors, lovely big range cooker and everything you'll need to cater for your family. A dining table with seating makes this a wonderfully social space for enjoying time together over a delicious meal. The cosy sitting room where you can relax on the sofa in front of the roaring woodburning stove is warm and inviting. At the end of a busy day, retire to one of two peaceful bedrooms, a spacious double room with a super kingsize bed and ensuite shower room, or a twin room which looks over the garden. A second shower room on the ground floor means that guests needn't share facilities. Dine alfresco in the terraced garden during the summer months or simply sit with a good book and enjoy the peace and quiet. Surrounded by Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty with the Tamar Valley and Dartmoor National Park, there is no shortage of good walking nearby. Head to the Walkham Valley where you'll find rugged scenic panoramas and gentle woodlands, or Lopwell Dam for a host of breathtaking views and colours year round. For keen gardeners, The Garden House is a horticultural experience and there some excellent nurseries to visit. The National Trust's Buckland Abbey is a little over half a mile away and is well worth a visit as is the nearby ancient market town of Tavistock which offers a wide range of eateries and a wonderful Pannier Market. Further afield are the golden sandy beaches of the South Hams and the bright lights of Plymouth - Devon's Ocean City. The pretty village of Yelverton makes a perfect base for exploring Dartmoor with excellent walking and cycling routes in the area. The 21 mile-long cycling and walking route Drakes trail, runs through the village and links nearby Tavistock and Plymouth passing through wooded valleys and open moorland. It is also possible to hire bikes in the village. There are several eating places around Yelverton including The Drake Manor Inn and The Royal Oak which provide a warm welcome and superb locally sourced food. Nearby attractions include Buckland Abbey, The Garden House and Burrator Reservoir. The South Devon coast is within easy reach for day trips to Salcombe and the pretty riverside village of Newton Ferrers. The Naval port of Plymouth can also be easily reached, famous for its maritime heritage and the historic Barbican district its narrow, cobbled streets lined with a fine selection of restaurants and bars.

Pub 5 minute walk, shop 2.6 miles. Note: Access to the property is shared with a neighbouring cottage. Note: This property has steep stairs with narrow treads, so, might present an issue for anyone with limited mobility or very young children. Care should be taken on the stairs. Note:During heavy periods of rain, the outside paving and garden steps may become slippery.
