Location Details
Scholes is a small village in Kirklees, West Yorkshire, not far from Holmfirth. The village has a cricket club and scenic walking and cycling trails. The rustic Boot and Shoe Inn serves home-cooked meals and a great selection of beverages, and has a well-stocked post office. A scenic drive will take you to Holmfirth, a bustling town in the beautiful Wye Valley with independent cafes, shops and fantastic walks.

We stayed at chimney cottage for a long weekend and it was fantastic. In the beautiful village of Hepworth, West Yorkshire myself and partner booked this just as a short staycation but we will definitely be back. The hosts ash and Nicola were very helpful and accommodating, messaged us to make sure we arrived safely and had already set up the high chair and travel cot for our daughter. When we arrived we were greeted with fresh flowers, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and sweet treats which were really appreciated. The cottage itself is absolutely stunning, it shows all the character of an old cottage along with a gorgeous stone log burner and the decor throughout the cottage is just beautiful. Two minutes walk around the corner (literally) is a lovely village pub which I’ve read has been voted in the top 50 Gastropubs in the Uk, I am not surprised as we had a lovely meal in there which we were able to take our dog in also, really friendly people and again another gorgeous log burner to cosy up to. All in all a really great find in a fabulous location, can’t wait to book again
