Located between Oxford and Aylesbury, the charming market town of Thame stands out as a must-see in Oxfordshire. Located on the River Thame, this beautiful community is famous for the 1137-founded Thame Abbey, which was subsequently destroyed in 1539 as part of the Reformation's dissolution of the monasteries. The town now has many shops and pubs, such as The Six Bells, The James Figg, and The Black horse, all of which offer a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and tasty pub fare, perfect for special occasions or nights when you just don't feel like cooking for your loved ones. It is also the starting point for the Phoenix Trail, a five-mile path connecting Thame and Princes Risborough that is popular among hikers and cyclists because of the beautiful scenery of the surrounding countryside and the nearby Chiltern Hills.
