Location Details
The civil parish of Misterton is located slightly north-east of Bassetlaw, in a pleasant part of Nottinghamshire near the Yorkshire border, with the River Trent flowing calmly to the east. It has a Grade I listed church, a library, a fire station, and several restaurants, including a tavern, a pizza shop, a Chinese takeaway and a convenience store. You may visit the neighbouring town of Gainsborough, which is brimming with mediaeval history thanks to its stately halls, beautiful cathedrals, and a glorious bath spa. Visit Doncaster, a classic Yorkshire town replete with breathtaking countryside, a lively town centre, and cultural attractions including Cusworth Hall, Potteric Carr Nature Reserve, and South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum, which are all within a short drive. Lincoln and Sheffield, two vibrant cosmopolitan cities, offer a wide range of bars, clubs, restaurants, and shopping options. We were the second guests to stay in Buttercup Lodge which is a brand new lodge designed and built by the owners Geoff and Michelle. What a wonderful lodge with high standard fixtures and fittings. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you require to cook a Sunday dinner ! The colour themes are beautiful, lively and cheerful. On arrival there was a welcome pack with wine, chocolate and biscuits etc which was well received. The hot tub is a wood fired one which is luxurious to enjoy, anytime of the day or night. Complete relaxing environment, rolls of green fields full of wildlife. The hosts are the warmest people who are helpful and considerate. They even swapped garden furniture for us because husband has walking disability. Plenty to do in the game room which has a full size snooker table !! There are pubs, Chinese takeaway, fish and chips and pizza places in the village if you fancy a dinner in without cooking. We had a wonderful stay and are looking to book our next holiday in the Lodge very soon.
