Head into Etal to explore the remains of Etal Castle and the glorious Etal Manor, before finishing the day off with a bite to eat from the charming local tearoom or a pint at The Black Bull. Venture towards its partnering village of Ford and stop at the intriguing Heatherslaw Cornmill and Light Railway along the way; when you have arrived in Ford, either by walking or riding the railway, be sure to explore the historic Lady Waterford Hall with its magnificent artwork, along with the grounds of Ford Castle, before hiking to discover the idyllic Roughtin Linn Waterfall. Travel north to the coastal town of Berwick-on-Tweed. A fabulous outing with its extensive Elizabethan bastioned town walls to traverse and the fascinating Barracks and Main Guard army museum to tour; after exploring the attractions, why not embark on a boat trip along the coast or through the estuary where dolphins and seals are commonly seen. Berwick also plays host to a fantastic beach where you can relish a well-deserved rest, before enjoying a game of putting at the fantastic beachfront golf course! Make your way into the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for a day out in Bamburgh and visit Bamburgh Castle and its beach, before venturing to Seahouses where you can board a boat to the mystical Farne Islands to see puffins other sea birds and seals.
