Reviews

This house was ok but we were so disappointed that due to the adverse weather conditions where the roads en route were closed (floods, landslides and falling trees) and advice was not to travel with red alerts so we were only able to stay 2 nights instead of the 4 booked. Sykes cottages with whom we had made the booking were confident that owner would allow a change of date but no, no change allowed and unfortunately insurance wouldn’t cover due to disruption being ‘act of God’. The owner did not even offer an extra night to make up for the calamity and commented that Inverness itself was fine! Caretaker has said he was sure we could have an extra night but no such offer was forthcoming. As stated the house itself was ok though no welcome basket provided and the house was cold. Fortunately warm blankets were on the beds. But of course it was very adverse weather conditions. We were a depleted group so managed on the available chairs. Dining table only had 6 chairs and sitting room had only 5 comfortable seats. So they advertise can house 8 adults but this is not true. So very very sad that we couldn’t change the date and be able to travel safely.
