Blow off some steam with a leisurely stroll along the Wansbeck River stopping for breakfast or lunch at the Riverside Pantry. This area is also popular for paddleboarding. You can cycle along the designated track which takes you to Newbiggin beach. A 30 minute walk over the fields takes you to historical Bothal with it's ancient castle and freshwater swimming. Travel further afield and traverse the moorland and sandstone hills that decorate the landscape of the nearby Northumberland National Park, home to the longest stretch of the historic Hadrian's Wall. Head south and a 30 minute drive will take you to Seaton Sluice with it's famous fish and chips at the Harbour View.
