Prysken, Padstow

We arrived at the property on the 17th September,the key were in a locked unit on the wall. We unpacked and found the property cold and damp. We quickly found there was no heating or hot water. We contacted Sykes who manages the property at 8.40 am the next day having found their “ emergency number” in the welcome pack and was shocked to find the call went to answer phone. I rang again at 9.00am and it was apparent by the conversation that the message had not been picked up. I was told to turn up the thermostat to 26 degrees the heating would kick in. I asked about the hot water and was told that it would also kick in despite the welcome pack stated that the water is controlled by timer. The list is endless where I received no assistance or constructive advice despite making 22 Calls over the week. The hot water worked well on the following Thursday, one day before we went home. There were many visits from the maintenance company but it transpired that the plumber had to either repair or replace 4 different items. So basically we had no hot water for six days of our 7 days holiday. On the last night we were woken at 3.00am by rats running over the roof followed by the rats loudly munching the wood under the property suffice to say we got up earlier than planned and were washed and had breakfast and on the road by 7.00am. To date (now 13th October) we have had no response or apology from Sykes holidays. We will NEVER use them again! There was no sympathy what so ever from the managing company it appeared to me that it was not their problem.
