The Bakehouse is a magical and cosy seaside retreat situated in the very heart of Port Isaac, a thriving fishing village on the North Cornwall coast. This charming whitewashed cottage is found nestled just yards from the old harbour and beach, and its central location enjoys immediate access to the village’s wealth of independent shops, galleries, cafés, pubs and Michelin starred eateries. Retaining many original features including beamed ceilings and thick stone walls, this beautiful Cornish cottage provides the perfect getaway for couples looking for a romantic retreat from which to enjoy Port Isaac and the surrounding area. The property has been beautifully modernised and boasts a gentle colour palette of whites and greys throughout. Cosy and compact, the ground floor enjoys an open plan kitchen, dining and living area complete with an inglenook fireplace and wood burner - perfect for indulgent, cosy winter nights. The kitchen is well-equipped, and provides the ideal environment for cooking up a seafood linguine, made using fresh fish bought from the adjacent fishmonger. On the first floor the comfortable double bedroom has been decorated in calming creams and whites, and is the ultimate space for relaxation after a day exploring. The adjacent shower room is well presented and stylishly decorated. The Bakehouse is perfectly situated to explore the pretty village of Port Isaac, and its enviable restaurants, art galleries and independent shops. For outdoor enthusiasts, explore the South West Coast Path or head over to Port Gaverne for coasteering, kayaking, or wild swimming in this much loved sheltered cove. Just a short distance by car you will find some of Cornwall’s most popular beaches including Polzeath and Tregardock for excellent surfing and Daymer Bay for those in search of calmer bathing waters. Nearby Rock, situated on the Camel Estuary is a hub for sailing, waterskiing and stand up paddle boating, and is also home to the foot ferry across to Padstow. With so many doorstep activities on offer, you certainly won’t find yourself short of things to do. The Bakehouse is a quintessential Cornish cottage, and is the perfect romantic retreat from which to enjoy all that North Cornwall has to offer.

Location Details
Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. Only ten minutes drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike. There is ample parking at the top of the village.

Just wanted a cute and cosy cottage to spend a few days in our favorite place- Port Isaac for early Feb. Instead we found the cottage unwelcome. the miserable old man next door did his best to ensure that as well. No tea/coffee/milk/biscuits- nothing to say welcome. The nearest shop is a good hike up the hill, so I thought this particularly mean. The woodburner hadn't been cleaned from the last person and no starter logs or kindling/firelighters. Central heating locked and went off 10pm so super cold in the evenings. Bathroom so small you can't sit on the toilet or shower properly. no ventilation so the extractor fan was going all day and all night. Toaster not great. Table and chairs downstairs cheap and rickety (although sofa was good). Stains, dust, cobwebs, cracks, scuffs stains and random coving wood left under bed so you couldn't put cases away (you needed to because there is no room to swing a cat). Far too much money for what you get. Mean, mean, mean.
