Backing onto the Fairlie Burn stream and lying next to Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, Clover Neuk offers a romantic retreat for two in the Scottish lowlands. Follow a gravelled pathway round to the property entrance, where a stylish, light-filled kitchen greets you; rustle up a delicious meal for your loved one using the fantastic amenities, such as electric oven, induction hob and a dishwasher for a quick cleanup so you can relax for the rest of the evening. Take care when stepping down from the kitchen into the snug, a lovely little spot to curl up and watch the TV or grab a book off the shelf, with natural light pouring in from the Velux window. Next door to the kitchen, the living/dining room has a breakfast bar for two, ideal for planning your day over a hearty breakfast, or romantic evenings by the gas fire for extra comfort whilst you enjoy a glass of wine on the plush sofa. Follow the stairs up to the lovely double bedroom, with cottage-style wooden doors, a feature fireplace and wooden beams, making for a pleasant setting to get ready or unwind after the day's adventures. A ground-floor shower room has stylish tiling, decorated with plants and a heated towel rail to wrap yourself in a toasty towel after a refreshing shower. Step through to the utility for a washing machine, iron and ironing board, so you can pack light and not worry about muddy walks. Clover Neuk has a rear, enclosed decking area overlooking Fairlie Burn, perfect for a quiet morning coffee listening to the peaceful sounds of the stream, or a romantic alfresco dinner at the outdoor seating under the stars. The cottage is a stones throw from the shore with the evening sun and sunset being gorgeous. When its time to stock up the cupboards or treat yourself to dinner out, head into Largs where you'll find plenty of shops and restaurants. Tinto tapas is delish, Room is also very nice pub food and Scotts is as close to fine dining as you get, located at the marina, between Largs and Fairlie. Theres also a local chocolate shop called Geraldos. The Fencebay fishery and craft shop is in the opposite direction along the main road, which is a great place to enjoy. For attractions, you are within reach of Fairlie viewpoint for outstanding views across the sea, or head to Kelburn Castle, Country Park & Estate, an excellent day out with the quirky, distinct graffiti style artwork of the castle walls. Make the most of your fantastic location by heading north to Largs, a historical town that celebrates its Viking heritage at Vikingar!, a multimedia centre, or wander along its Victorian promenade with an ice cream and take a ferry trip to the Isle of Cumbrae. A smaller village south of Fairlie, West Kilbride has spectacular views over the Fifth Clyde, with Sea Mill Beach a short journey away for romantic strolls along the sand, or stay in the village centre to discover its galleries and studios, such as The Barony Centre, a major exhibition space with a lovely café. Beith is an attractive, historical town lying on the other side of Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park from Fairlie; visit the Auld Kirk, dating back to the late 1500s, wander the beautiful Eglinton Street with 18th and 19th-century architecture, and enjoy dinner at one of the traditional village pubs. For a good day out alos take a trip to the gin distillery at Millport. With excellent villages and towns within reach, surrounding the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park for fantastic walks and cycle routes, Clover Neuk is the perfect base to discover the wonderful attractions of the Scottish lowlands.
