This friendly town has a mile-long esplanade that serves as a beautiful backdrop to the golden beach, while the charming harbour, which is frequented by the famous paddle steamer Waverley in the summer, provides good fishing chances. Visit Blenheim Gardens, which has won numerous prizes for its magnificent floral displays, or take a historic steam train ride from the coast on the West Somerset Railway.
