Sleeping up to eleven guests in five spacious bedrooms and resting near the bustling town of Bude, this charming abode is a superb base for a large family looking to explore the Cornish coast. Park up at the foot of the cottage before admiring the luscious greenery that surrounds the property and make your way inside to begin your holiday. Meals can be prepared in the kitchen/diner, which boasts contemporary décor and stylish grey cupboards, fully equipped with all of the amenities to suit your self-catering needs; store your food and beverages in the American style fridge/freezer. Enjoy tasty meals together at the dining table where you can uncork a bottle of wine and toast to a wonderful getaway with your loved ones. To the rear of the home is a handy utility room for you to wash and dry your sandy clothes as well as an entrance into the back garden, providing the ideal space to wash off muddy paws before venturing into the main living areas. Moving through the property, locate the bright and airy sitting room, traditionally-decorated with an exposed brick wall which homes a rustic woodburning stove to gently heat up the room; take a seat on one of three sofas and unwind for the evening in front of the TV. Be very careful when you book this accommodation! It’s a lovely house in a remote but pretty area. There were a few issues with the house; ie, no trampoline or climbing frame as shown in pictures, shower in master bedroom kept cutting out while showering, not good when your shampooing your hair! , no curtain or blind at the window in master bedroom, and the Juliette balcony has a padlock on it with no key, apparently it’s out of use as it’s unsafe, would have been nice to know this before but that was ok with us although not ideal. The fridge was dirty and had food left in from previous guests. The main issue was the owner, we left the house spotless, cleaned floors etc, however we did accidentally leave one small bathroom pedal bin unemptied, we have a young baby and we were trying to feed and change before 10am checkout, ( anyone who has a 6 month old baby would probably understands how difficult this is) No excuse, I know, but apart from one bin the house was spotless! We even hoovered. On arrival home, I received an email stating that we had broken cupboard door locks and stolen items, (these were child locks) she accused me of stealing alcohol and other ‘things’ from her cupboard. I spoke to my family, no one took anything from a locked cupboard. There were unmarked cupboards with toilet rolls and coffee pods in which we assumed were complimentary, (we used 4) we did open the child lock on one cupboard which was easily opened and not definitely broken when we left, we urgently needed some blue disposal cloths as my little boy was very ill and was vomiting all over the kitchen. Anyway, long story short, she only refunded one third of my £300 deposit. She said this was to replace the ‘stolen’ items and that she need would to replace the ‘broken’ locks. I was shocked to say the least, nothing was broken when we left. When I asked her for receipts, which I believe is reasonable or some kind of evidence, photos perhaps???she she called me a liar a thief and a bully. In total she kept £196.52 from my deposit. I never saw any receipts or evidence of any damage. When I messaged her again. She blocked me. Which obviously leads me to believe they were not in fact broken. What was meant to be a nice family break became very stressful and tarred our experience. We were made to feel like criminals, vandals..Be very careful, she really is a not a nice person.
