Dinas Cross has a mini market and a pub and is between the Preseli Mountains and Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Pwll Gwaelod and Cwm-Yr-Eglwys beaches are minutes away, both with breathtaking scenery offering tranquil days in perfect settings, and are almost unnoticed by the general public unless they leave the main route through the village, with a petrol station, two pubs, a fish and chip shop, and a restaurant at Pwll Gwaelod beach. Newport is a nearby seaside town with shops, tea rooms, pubs, and boating. This beautiful Welsh county has castles, mills, craft centres, and golf courses galore, making it a year-round vacation destination.
Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
Nice cottage and great location but let down by a lack of TLC and poor standard of cleaning. One of the bed sheets clearly unwashed when we arrived. It was grubby and sandy. Our daughter had to make do by doubling up on duvets the first night while we washed the sheet. The standard of cleaning elsewhere was poor too. The floor had not been washed and the kitchen area smelt strongly of dog. One of the baths hadn't been cleaned and anywhere not completely obvious was thick with dust and grime. There wasn't even any hand soap provided in the bathrooms. Our other complaint was that even in a sunny May week (still down to 8 degrees at night) the place was cold due to thick walls, hard floor and small windows. The heating was locked out (a cheek when proudly dvertised as having underfloor heating!). It would only have needed half hour in morning and evening to take the edge off but clearly those staying not welcome enough to be trusted with this. The hard floor that could have been heated was freezing cold so bring some warm socks even in summer. There is an open fire and 2 lecky heaters in a bag that we didn't use, so you are not going to freeze. It's just not very honest. Instructions really limited too. What to do with bins, recycling etc. No idea. On the positive side it's a decent sized place and really well equipped. Location is perfect and outside space really pleasant. If it was clean and heating not locked off then this would have been a 5 star review. One more thing. Don't you think strange that no reviews here. Have Sykes UPDATED the title so they can lose them all? Also few if any recent reviews in the visitor book. And only 4 on Sykes website!! We didn't even bother putting review there as suspect only the decent ones that don't complain of poor cleaning make the cut.
