Chudleigh, a historic wool town in Devon's picturesque Teignbridge District, is a wonderful day trip destination any time of year. The town's history may be traced back to the Saxon era, as seen by the prevalence of Saxon place names in modern day usage. The town also boasts historical attractions including the caverns at Rock and an Iron Age hillfort that overlooks the area. In addition to its many accommodations, Chudleigh is home to two pubs, an English restaurant, grocery stores, specialty boutiques, and more, all of which are useful during a self-catered visit.
