Location Details

As the escarpment above the confluence of the Ceiriog and Dee rivers, Chirk (Welsh spelling: Y Waun) is known as The Gateway to Wales. More famous than anything else, Chirk is home to a magnificent Edward I-era castle and gardens, one of many constructed across Wales during that time period. It also has a stunning Thomas Telford-designed waterway and an array of delightful pubs and restaurants along with a great golf course and marina.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
