Helmsley is a prestigious market town in Upper Ryedale, on the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park. Helmsley has its own 12th century castle, and English Heritage's Rievaulx Abbey and Castle Howard are nearby. Helmsley also has an arts centre with films and plays, and a summer outdoor pool. We have just spent a couple of days in this delightful cottage on the very edge of Helmsley main centre. The garden is a tranquil haven and perfect place to kick back and relax after a long walk around Duncolme Park! ! Lovely outdoor sitting dining area for dining / reading. It’s also dog friendly and secure so our two pups enjoyed wandering freely around the garden . The kitchen is superbly equipped! Beds very comfortable and a huge bathroom ! It’s a 3 minute walk to the town where we dined in fantastic restaurants on both evenings !
