Caerwys is one of the smallest towns in the United Kingdom, having been awarded a Royal Charter in 1290. This lively town, located between the northern edge of the Clwydian Hill Range and the miles of sandy beaches along the North Wales Coast, has two pubs, a couple of shops, a Post Office, butcher, pharmacy, bowling green, and tennis courts. Mold, Denbigh, and Ruthin, all historic market towns with good stores and craft centres, including the Afonwen Craft Centre on the outskirts of town, are all nearby.
