Location Details

The bustling market town of Bala is located within the beautiful Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, at the head of Llyn Tegid, Bala's famous lake, which is the largest natural lake in Wales and home to the Gwyniad, an Ice Age relic. Bala is well-known for its great watersports, such as fishing, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, and whitewater rafting, and it also serves as the headquarters for the narrow gauge Bala Lake Railway. The town itself is rich in history, with a variety of interesting shops, inns, and restaurants, as well as a historical Town Walk. This is a mecca for climbing, walking, mountain biking, and many other outdoor activities, surrounded on one side by the wonderful Berwyn Mountains and on the other by the beautiful Eryri (Snowdonia) Mountain Range. A great base for exploring North and Mid Wales, including the stunning Cambrian Bay Coast with its six-mile-long Harlech Beach, which is overlooked by a majestic mediaeval castle. A truly wonderful area of Wales that caters to all interests.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Reviews

Stayed at Mawnog Fach in July on arrival the property seemed very nice and modern but we had trouble opening the front door and on entering was met by a strange smell possibly blocked drains we also found the water in the shower to be just loot warm beware we were charged an extra £40 3 weeks after our holiday for dog hairs on the bed lining we found this over the top as we were instructed to strip the beds at the end of our stay which we did and put it on the floor which we did where there could have been some hairs
