Mews House, Camborne

Booked to stay for 3 nights through sykes cottages. Picked the cottage specifically because it advertised off road parking and wifi to take my disabled mother to see my brother in cornwall for a few days. When I arrived the off road parking was a good 5-10 minute walk from the property and was in the middle of a building site - i damaged my exhaust trying to park. The directions the owner gave were truly terrible, so bad in fact that despite numerous calls neither I nor my brother could find the property and I ended up having to make alternative sleeping arrangements for us for the first night. We met with the property owner on the saturday morning to show us where the it was. The property was accessed from the back, down a small alleyway, the picture of the front was very misleading. There was no signage as they had stated, no black gate with a barrel lock - it was behind a builders fence in what looked like a building site. In no world would I have ever attempted to move the fence to get into the property, noone in their right mind enters a building site. Having finally gotten in the property, i followed the instruction in the welcome pack to access the internet and it was not available. I had to get in touch with the company again and it transpired that the instructions in the book were incorrect. The sound on the TV in the bedroom didn't work but by this time I was so fed up and frustrated i just couldn't be bothered any more. The company said they would refund me for the first night (given my experience and the expense I have incurred I'm inclined to think I should have been refunded for the whole trip) but I haven't heard anything more from them as yet. I regularly visit Cornwall and have stayed in many properties through Sykes but this visit was a truly horrible experience.
